    Gregory Schmidt, MD, is a professor of medicine and the director of critical care medicine at the University of Iowa. He researches ICU ultrasound, sepsis therapy, ARDS, and judging the adequacy of volume replacement in patients in shock. Dr. Schmidt’s clinical interests include ECMO, septic shock, fluid management techniques, and analysis of ventilator waveforms on treatment course.
