    Sepsis-Induced Coagulopathy (SIC) Score

    Predicts likelihood of sepsis-induced coagulopathy.

    IMPORTANT

    Launched during COVID-19 crisis.

The SIC Score has been evaluated in the COVID-19 crisis given concerns that COVID-19 may cause thrombosis, but this has only been evaluated in one study in China for now.

    INSTRUCTIONS

"Total SOFA" is the summation of the SOFA Score's Respiratory, Cardiovascular, Hepatic, and Renal SOFA components.

    When to Use
    Why Use

The SIC Score can be used for septic patients in whom clinicians are concerned about possible sepsis-induced coagulopathy.

The SIC Score can help suggest coagulopathy, which is often a precursor to overt DIC.
