Systematic Coronary Risk Evaluation 2-Older Persons (SCORE2-OP)
Predicts 10-year CVD risk in older patients.
Use in patients ≥70 years.
Cutoffs with treatment recommendations were introduced in the 2021 ESC Guidelines on cardiovascular disease prevention in clinical practice. The below risk levels and recommendations are based on healthy patients, these cutoffs may differ based on presence of chronic disease. See the Evidence tab for additional links to more information.
Risk Stratification for patients ≥70 years old:
- Low-moderate risk: <7.5%
- High risk: 7.5% to <15%
- Very High risk: ≥15%
Treatment Recommendations
-
Low to moderate risk: Risk factor treatment plan generally not recommended.
-
High risk: Risk factor treatment plan should be considered (i.e., blood pressure and LDL-C control).
-
Very high risk: Risk factor treatment plan should be recommended (i.e., blood pressure as tolerated and LDL-C control).
