Fibrotic NASH Index (FNI)
Screens for fibrotic NASH in individuals at high risk for NAFLD.
This score consists of 3 lab values that are widely available outside of specialized hepatology clinics. Use it to screen for fibrotic nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) in high-risk patients.
Management
- Patients with diabetes, obesity, and other markers of metabolic syndrome should receive counseling in lifestyle modifications.
- If fibrosis is suspected, referral to a hepatologist may be warranted.
