  • Patients with reduced eGFR should undergo further evaluation, including:
    • Assessment of chronicity. 
    • Detailed evaluation of personal and family history, medications, and social and environmental factors.
    • Comprehensive physical examination.
    • Diagnostic testing, such as urine studies, imaging, and/or renal biopsy.
    • Referral to nephrology.
  • For patients with CKD, regular follow-up is crucial to monitor kidney function and adjust management. It is recommended to check albuminuria and eGFR at least annually.
  • Medications should be dose-adjusted based on the most recent eGFR to avoid toxicity and ensure efficacy.
