Advice
- For patients identified at high risk, consider pursuing briefer procedures (where possible), enhanced prophylactic measures, closer monitoring, and possibly extending hospital stays or ICU monitoring.
- Inform patients about their individual risk factors and the importance of adhering to preoperative and postoperative instructions to mitigate pneumonia risk.
- As it is a preoperative tool, it may not account for intraoperative changes or postoperative complications that could affect the pneumonia risk.
