| 1-2 | Low risk, consider deferring chest X-ray and antibiotics |
| 3-4 | Moderate risk, consider chest X-ray to further evaluate for pneumonia |
| 5-6 | High risk, consider chest X-ray vs. empiric antibiotics |
*Scores were derived from a population of children presenting to an emergency department in whom a clinician obtained a CXR for suspicion for pneumonia. This score may over-estimate actual risk when applied to children with lower suspicion of pneumonia.
