Multiple Myeloma Response Criteria
Predicts disease response in multiple myeloma, from the International Myeloma Working Group (IMWG).
Response criteria apply only to patients with measurable disease, defined as ≥1 of the following:
- Serum M-protein ≥1 g/dL.
- Urine M-protein ≥200 mg/24 hr.
- Serum FLC level ≥ 10 mg/dL with an abnormal FLC ratio.
Patients who do not meet any of the measurable disease criteria above may only be assessed for stringent complete response (sCR).
Advice
- Results are primarily used in clinical trials to monitor treatment response.
- While no specific treatment recommendations are directly tied to results, response assessment can help determine whether a patient is meeting treatment goals and inform potential therapy adjustments.
